The Delivery Guy is a short burst of the intense life of Atlanta music writer and poet Mikel K. K covered the bands for years and then started one, The Mikel K Band. Fistfights with famous frontmen, ejections from clubs and entrances into jail cells and mental institutions are all blatantly discussed in this intense book. K makes no apologies. K blames no one for the dire straights that his sex and drugs and rock n roll life style delivered him into. The Delivery Guy is profane. This book is not for the fainthearted. See a man transformed from one with lust for the cover of The Rolling Stone to a man happy to sit in the bleachers at his kids' ballgame and watch his son run around the bases. The beginning and the middle of this book are ugly, gruesome nearly, but there is a happy ending. The Delivery Guy delivers. This book will not bore you. It will scare you. It will make you scream. It will make you laugh and shout.

The Delivery Guy is a fast read, full of anecdotes of the author's life. Thoughts and musings of an observer as well as a man who creates his own action (not always for the better).I found myself laughing aloud in spots, and for me it was worth those moments. It is a prose piece that has a specific cadence, the punctuation fits even if it forces the reader to stop. Spelling and grammar fit within the context of what is being read and can be off-putting until the flow of the text is found by the reader. His prose deals with personal desire, and the real concreteness of his life, his focus is inner, and not outward so the imagery is implied and not expressed. Some of the story telling is resolved in surprising ways.
I recommend this to the person who is trying to make sense of their lives. The Delivery Guy definitely delivers some harsh insight.

The Delivery Guy eBook Mikel K Reviews
A definate page turner. You will not be disappointed, it does indeed deliver. For sure it is not for the fainthearted. A real story about a very real guy and the real truth as ugly as it may have been. Mikel K is for sure the new Charles Bukowski! Bravo!
Thanks Mikel,
Looking forward to reading your book. Long distance fb friend. I appreciated hearing of this via whispernet.

"I found the book, "The Delivery Guy," by Mikel K to be a refreshing and sometimes uncomfortably honest look into the life of a modern writer struggling to come to terms with a pre-fabricated and often superficial, turn of the century, American society. The battle is dynamic and comes to an uplifting spiritually evolved conclusion. I found it a fascinating read!!!"--James Lewis
This is a must read for everyone who ever thought about saying 'screw the system' and wanted to face reality in the raw, but haven't, or couldn't, find the guts to do it.
The Delivery Guy is a poet's journal of events and decisions facing a man trying to dig below the surface of corporate security and acceptable mythological and social hiding places, to see what's what and feel the energy of what 'is' in our era.
There are no safety nets to catch Mikel in his walk through the primate insanity of the human experience in a crowded city of frightened Homo Sapiens.
Mikel K is the new Charles Bukowski!
Mikel K is a prolific writer with great delivery skills. I own the paper copy and have read it a few times but it was nice to be able to read it again on the fly.
Mikel K Poet is a Buddhist monk in a ripped biker's body. Do not be frightened by his exterior, Mikel K is friend to all, esp. strippers and dogs!
His writings are fresh yet harsh, philosophical yet crass.
They come from the honesty of a man who faces his demons head on.
It's a blessing to know Mikel K. If he was 20 years younger I would totally do him.
Love,

"The Delivery Guy" is one of the most provoking books that I have ever read. Turning its pages, I was affected emotionally, and cerebrally, by the intensity of both Mikel K, and of the language that he used in the book. As we follow Mikel K on the weird, and angry, journey of his early sobriety, it is a brilliant experience to be exposed to the very unique insights that only K can offer thoughts that will make you sneer, thoughts that will make you burst out in laughter.
"The Delivery Guy" is a book that will make you both laugh, and cry. It is nice to be touched by a book in such extreme manners.
This is a book that, on the surface, seems to be about Mikel K, but as we read it, we find that the book has a connection to all of us. It can, and does, relate to current societal issues; it can and does relate to what most of us are going through in our daily lives. The massive feelings of both gratitude, and hopelessness that K relates to us, one day at a time, and his understanding of the struggles of survival that the working man goes through are amazing to follow.
You will never look the same way at the guy who delivers your pizza, again; trust me!
"The Delivery Guy" is a memoir of a man ruthlessly pursuing his art, his ambition to "be" a poet, his dreams, while making sure that his kids have a ride to school, and plenty of pizza to eat. Reading the book is somewhat like riding a rollercoaster. There are wild ups, and wild downs. At the end you will say, "Wow."

Thoughts lead to actions.
Garbage in garbage out.
You know,
I have heard these little effing (edit) sayings all my life, but I don't think that I have ever truly listened to them. I don't think that it has ever truly sunk into my fat head, my thick, thick skull what these sayings mean. Will I ever be able to listen? Will I ever be able to learn from the experience, strength and hope of others? It is said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. If so, then I am certifiable crazy.
